BIAS - Inequality in Women's Health and Research is a Research Ireland funded Science Week Event, which aims to encourage national dialogue and debate around the biases that still prevent women from receiving adequate healthcare, benefiting from research findings, and feeling valued and understood in society.

  • Harriet Wheelock: Keeper of Collections, Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (RCPI), responsible for the RCPI Heritage Centre. 

  • Professor Jennifer Donnelly: Consultant Obstetrician and Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialist at the Rotunda Hospital 

  • Dr Cliona Murphy, National Clinical Director of the National Women and Infants Health Programme (NWIHP)

Join us for a compassionate and informative discussion on fertility care in Ireland. Specialists from the Rotunda Fertility Hub will share insights on fertility challenges, treatment options, and available supports. Learn about recent advances in fertility care under the Women’s Health Action Plan and bring your questions to a multidisciplinary panel ready to guide and inform.

  • Dr. Edgar Mocanu: Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at the Rotunda Hospital, Dublin, specialising in infertility care, reproductive health, and surgery. 

  • Jade Kirwan: Clinical Midwife Specialist in Fertility at the Rotunda Hospital. 

  • Caitriona Fitzpatrick: Chair of the National Infertility Support and Information Group (NISIG). 

  • Laura McCaffrey:  Counsellor and Psychotherapist at the Irish Family Planning Association (IFPA).
